By the end of 19th century, Don Roberto Cruz Lozano decided to move from Tulua, his home town in Valle del Cauca, to the city of Candelaria, where he began his amazing dream of carrying out a sugar mill or Trapiche, built with masses of stone moved by animal force.
Trapiche La Palestina was founded in 1914, excelling all efforts in extraction and clarification of juice processes and refining honey in copper pots and handcrafted furnaces.
